I have the exact same problem as you. I am a 16 year old male and I weigh 8stone when I should weigh about 10stone. I do not eat much as I am scared of getting fat. I see myself as having a huge belly and big fat legs when I look in the mirror but everyone always tells me I am way too skinny. I dont know what to do about it as I see myself as fat but I can see my ribs and my bones stick out. I am trying my best not to get any skinner but it's just keeps getting worse.

AnswerYes, eat more and you will gain weight. AnswerThe answer above isn't very thorough. DON'T eat a lot. Because of starving yourself, you can't digest a lot a time and if you force it down, that's not good. Here is what you really should do: Go to a doctor, tell him/her your anorexic story, and ask them for advice. They will give it to you.

Hi, try eating lots of carbohydrates such as potatoes, rice, pasta and a lot of meat

Hope that helped :)

Your BMI is 17, which is classified as underweight, but barely. It really all depends on your build, if you're naturally built wide, then it is pretty underweight. And it also depends on your eating patterns. Your weight is *underweight* but do your eating patterns have something wrong with them? (Message me)

What Are the behavior differences between anorexia and bulimia?

Anorexics are underweight according to their BMI and if are female have lost their period. Bulimics binge and purge (consume large amounts of food then over exercise, vomit or abuse laxatives to compensate)and may be underweight, a normal weight or overweight. Both have irrational fear of food or gaining weight and have a warped idea of their own weight. Some anorexics binge and purge as well, but are underweight so are diagnosed anorexic.

How much do anorexics weight on average?

It depends on your height. Check the bmi and if its within the healthy range then...thats healthy. But if you are 15% below the healthy/normal range then you are severly underweight and possibly suffering from anorexia. I'm 5'7 and I'm supposed to be 120lb to 130lbs. At my lowest weight I was 87lbs. But now while I'm recovering from anorexia, I weigh 110. I'm still underweight but no longer anorexic. Just relies on your perspective I guess.
