Hi, I am not a doctor by any means, and my knowledge of medicine is very limited, so please do not take my advice as a mean to treat or cure anything. My knowledge is based on the fact that I have suffured from GERD since a very young age and now I was diagnosed with Chronic gastritis. From one of my conversations with my doctor, I presented my new diet and he very much agreed with it up to the point of drinking milk. First as a gastritis patient you should limit the amount amount of fat in your meals, this includes milk. Try fatfree milks, they go better with your stomach. The second issue with milk is that contains calcium and although calcium is cointained in many acid-relief pills, it will calm your stomach in the short term, but in the long term it can cause a acid rebound, affecting again your stomach. Therefore it becomes a vicious cycle of relieving and acidulating your stomach. Hopefully this will serve, greetz Bratzo
Calcium carbonate in Rennie tablets works as an antacid by neutralizing excess stomach acid to provide relief from indigestion, heartburn, and upset stomach. It helps to soothe irritation in the stomach lining and reduce symptoms of acidity.
Tums, it contains calcium carbonate
The chemical formula for Rennies tablets is CaCO3, which stands for calcium carbonate. Calcium carbonate is an antacid used to relieve symptoms of indigestion and heartburn by neutralizing excess stomach acid.
You can chew some calcium tablets. When buying the tablets make sure it says chew-able.
Indigestion tablets typically contain ingredients that neutralize stomach acid, such as calcium carbonate or magnesium hydroxide. These ingredients work by raising the pH in the stomach to provide relief from indigestion symptoms.
The two chemicals that react in antacid tablets are typically aluminum hydroxide and magnesium hydroxide. These chemicals help to neutralize stomach acid and provide relief from heartburn and indigestion.
Antacid tablets typically contain active ingredients such as calcium carbonate, magnesium hydroxide, or aluminum hydroxide. These ingredients help neutralize excess stomach acid and provide relief from heartburn and indigestion. Antacid tablets may also contain inactive ingredients such as flavoring agents, sweeteners, and binding agents.
Most heartburn tablets use Calcium Carbonate which is slightly alkaline (basic) to neutralize stomach acid. Brands such as "Tums" and "Rolaids" use calcium carbonate.Other heartburn tablets (such as "Pepcid") use Famatodine, which is essentially an antihistamine which helps to block the production of stomach acid.
Tablets designed to decrease the acidity in the stomach.
Both of these substances are alkaline and they react with excess acid in the stomach to produce a Calcium or Magnesium salt solution and Carbon dioxide gas.
The alkali in the Rennie tablets neutralize the Hydrochloric acid in the stomach.
"Calcium tablets" is a bit vague. If you put calcium metal in water it will form bubbles as the calcium reacts with water to form calcium hydroxide and hydrogen gas (the bubbles). If you put tablets of some calcium salt in water ... you'd need to be more specific about what it is for us to answer the question.
