It's possible you took them too early, but it's also possible you aren't pregnant. Most tests can't be taken until the week of your period or a day or two after your supposed to have started. If you took them before your period was supposed to start, wait until it is a day or so late and then take another one. If you can't wait that long to know, call your doctor and ask for a blood test for pregnancy. If you don't have a doctor, look up planned parenthood in the phone book.

∙ 18y agoYES If you take the tests too early or at the wrong time of day they may well be false negatives. Wait until two weeks after your missed period then test the first urine you pass in the morning. If it is still negative but you think you are pregnant then go to the doctor.

∙ 15y agoYes. There are several things that can contribute to a negative pregnancy test due to improper testing. You should take the test in the morning because your hcg level is at it's highest in your morning urine. You should not drink a bunch of fluids before taking a test because it will dilute your urine. You should take the test either two weeks or more after date of possible conception, or the day of your expected period. These things will help you have a more accurate reading.
