Yes
pharmacist at CVS told me 24 hour claritin taken in the morning and NyQuil taken that night would be ok.
I'm wondering the same thing. i think that excuse ill not be believable, especially if your a x addict. but can they prove it? alcohol does raise your metabolites way more than the correct dose of NyQuil would. you would have to have drank a hole bottle. also my counselor said there's a problem if you are drinking that much NyQuil. but YES it can be detected but not an excuse if your trying to get out of a alcohol test. good luck to all of us in our journey of life.
NyQuil typically contains about 10% alcohol by volume, but the exact amount can vary by formulation. To achieve a blood alcohol level of 0.06, it would depend on a person's weight, metabolism, and other factors. It's important to note that using NyQuil or any medication to intentionally alter blood alcohol levels can be dangerous and is not recommended. Always consult with a healthcare professional regarding medication use and alcohol consumption.
Yes, only Nyquil doesn't show up as Nyquil, it can show up as cocaine, THC, and other legal meds such as oxycontin. So, be sure and mention to your Dr. or whoever, that you have taken Nyquil in the past 2 or 3 days.=Annabelle50=
It's funny you should this, I would get anxiety when I used Nyquil while I was taking paxil. I think you shouldn't use the Nyquil with DXM in it while on paxil
Vicks Nyquil contains 25% alcohol (50 proof), so it wouldn't take very much at all to produce a measurable level. Even a teaspoonful would cause you to fail an ETG test taken the next day. Many other over-the-counter medicines contain very high levels of alcohol.
NyQuil contains ingredients such as acetaminophen, dextromethorphan, and doxylamine, but it does not typically lead to high levels of Ethyl Glucuronide (EtG), a metabolite of ethanol, in any patients, including those who have had gastric bypass surgery. While gastric bypass can affect drug absorption and metabolism, the presence of EtG would primarily be associated with alcohol consumption. If a patient ingests alcohol while taking NyQuil, it could potentially elevate EtG levels, but this would be due to alcohol intake rather than the NyQuil itself. Always consult a healthcare provider for personalized advice.
Mixing NyQuil with alcohol can be dangerous and is not recommended. It is important to seek medical advice from a healthcare professional rather than trying to self-medicate for a specific blood alcohol reading. Mixing alcohol with medication can have unpredictable and harmful effects on the body.
Drinking anything that contains alcohol. Mouthwash is a common item that can trigger a positive test for alcohol in the system.
Cold medicines often contain significant proportions of alcohol. The test therefore would not be a false positive if you have taken one or more of the cold medicines because the test will correctly detect the presence of alcohol.
No, it would show as positive on an ETG urine test
Nyquil is an over-the-counter medication, meaning you do not need a prescription to obtain it. It is not illegal. No employer drug test that I know of would deny you employment for having used Nyquil (assuming you're not using it at work!). I don't even think it has components that are tested for in a standard drug test.
