from her lmp her due date should be Sep 30, meaning she should have conceived Jan 9, give or take 5 days. Her due date is 20 days off. meaning her lmp would be Jan 14. she should have conceived around January 29, give or take five days, if she due on the 20th. ultrasounds aren't always completely accurate though. if she is completely sure of her lmp there is a possibility that both of your sperms could have been inside her around that time. You need a DNA test. but from the ultrasounds due date if she didn't cheat after jan11 it's definitely urs... ;)
Hmm tricky one. Working back from the due date doesn't result in a hard and fast conceived date as sperm can survive inside the human body for several days before firtalisation happens. However, December 26th through to January 11th is probably too long (sorry, didn't quite follow the dates).
I would ask for a DNA test as it will answer the question once and for all. Or, don't ask for a DNA test and accept the mother & child whoever's it is... :(
AnswerFrom the dates you gave above that would just be impossible. If she was to be 8wks on Dec. 26/07 she would be due sometime in June/08 which would make conception in and around Oct./07 sometime. If her due date given was Oct. 20/08 and she was to be 8wks at the time of your ultrasound then that would make her have a baby 12months later. Your dates don't match up at all if she is to be 8wks at this time. You had better check all your information correctly. As of September 19, 2008 (this Friday), you should be 8 weeks along. Gestation is calculated (at first) by counting forward from the first day of your last period, and date of conception is typically assumed to be 14 days (2 weeks) after that date. A more accurate date can be given by the Sonographer at your first ultrasound, by measuring the size of your fetus.
Most ultrasound machines don't list how far along you are on the pictures that are printed. The technician that is running the machine can have the computer calculate the age of the fetus using measurements.
8 Months
Well, that is something that an ultrasound will have to determine. The theory is that you are pregnant (conception has occurred) sometime after your last period. Conception doesn't necessarily occur the moment that the man ejaculates his sperm into the vagina. So, yes, you did become pregnant somewhere between when you had sex after your last period, but before you realized that you were late in getting your period. This has to be discovered by the ultrasound, to determine the EDD (estimated due date).
I was told the same thing. Based on my lmp I am 6 weeks but I had an ultrasound done 2 days ago that said I was 4 weeks. I wonder if I am 4 weeks along because that is the time of conception since you dont get pregnant the day of your period. It is usually two weeks later when you ovulate. Let me know if you have heard anything
Ultrasound technology is advancing every day, along with other healthcare technologies. Ultrasound can now detect many medical concerns and issues in a noninvasive way. Ultrasound is also many new parent's first view of their baby!
Blood work cannot tell you how far along you are as the levels vary so much from pregnancy to pregnancy, go with the ultrasound.
The sex of your baby can be determined by ultrasound at 16 weeks. Doctors will usually do an ultrasound at 20 weeks.
It can be one of two things either you are not far enough along for the baby to appear on ultrasound or you have miscarried, which in that case you would have been made aware of when they did the ultrasound.
One can tell how far along they are in pregnancy by having an ultrasound. An ultrasound measures the fetus and then compare that measurement to what an average fetus is. If it matches to a 3 week fetus it means that one is 3 weeks into pregnancy.
Have an ultrasound done at around 18 or more weeks along.
Majority of the time but a ultrasound is very accurately
