The greatest pressure drop in the circulatory system occurs in the arterioles. Arterioles are small, muscular blood vessels that regulate blood flow and control blood pressure. As blood travels from the arteries to the capillaries, the arterioles cause a significant decrease in pressure to ensure proper exchange of nutrients and waste between the blood and tissues.

Some weakened blood vessels will swell or worse they can break. If the break happens in the brain a type of stroke can occur.
Blood vessels can be ruptured by extensive pressure to certain points of the body. Whether it be internal or external, certain force applied to your body builds an accumulated amount of blood calls to form together thus creating the vessel which carries the blood cells to rupture to relieve pressure. Think volcano or filling a water balloon until it has reached its capacity. External pressure caused by blunt force, ex: a hard hit to the body causes a blood vessel to rupture as you would expect a hole to occur in wall from a hard hit. Blood vessels are delicate and depending on person to person any force pressure etc applied will indeed burst, tear or rupture.

Hyporperfusion can be occur if the heart is damaged and unable to pump and adequate amount of blood through the body, there is inadequate blood volume in the body, or blood vessels are unable to respond to changes in blood pressure.
