In what ways do you think alcohol abuse can hurt a family?

You gain a dependency and everything you care about wont mean anything unless you're impaired. It ruins relations and doesn't give you a great title to have. And it can Kill you taking you away from everything you care about.

since alcohol impairs your ability to function, it is not hard to hurt the people you love. Since abuse is an obsession and it is a personal matter, it is easier for the abuser to push the people who are impeding them away and therefore they end up hurting friends and family in the process. The pain inflicted would mostly be emotional as it is not easy to watch someone have their lives overrun by something so dangerous but physical pain may be caused if the abuser is drunk and unaware of their actions.
