Low platelet counts are not a major feature of HIV. It is an abnormal lab that you should discuss with your doctor.
To identify the disease Dengue blood tests are done. During these tests, the platelet count of the blood is checked. If the patient have Dengue, the platelet can be very low than the normal level.
A platelet count of 90,000 platelets per microliter (not mL) is considered low, as normal ranges typically fall between 150,000 and 450,000 platelets per microliter. This condition, known as thrombocytopenia, increases the risk of excessive bleeding during and after surgery. The surgeon may want to postpone the procedure to assess the underlying cause of the low platelet count and consider interventions to improve the platelet levels before proceeding.
The patient is most likely to hemorrhage in condition a) thrombocytopenia, which is a decrease in platelet count resulting in impaired blood clotting ability. This can increase the risk of bleeding and hemorrhage.
It can be the common thing in cancer patients. It would be better for low platelet count patient to eat green vegetables and food which generates blood. If you infuse the platelet bag, then try to get the platelets of the same blood group. Like if your patient is having B+ blood, then donor should be having B+ blood. Try to infuse the platelet of family blood like if your father is suffering from this thing, then son should give platelets to him. That will definitely increase the time for next bag infusion.
Platelet
Platelets are important in the human blood system. Platelet concentration is the amount of platelets in a measured volume of blood.
As many as necessary to prevent bleeding associated with thrombocytopenia. In patients refractory to random donor platelet transfusions, platelet crossmatching may identify units providing better platelet count increases. If crossmatching is not effective, HLA matching of platelets may be necessary.
no
prevents blood clotting
low wbc count depicts immunosuppressed patient, with a compromised deffence mechanism, low platelet count means thrombocytopaenia where the patient has a bleeding disorder resulting to excessive blood loss incase of an injury
platelet distribution width (PDW)an indication of variation in platelet size which can be a sign of active platelet release.
This process is known as platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy. It involves drawing a small amount of blood from the patient, spinning it in a centrifuge to separate the platelet-rich plasma from other blood components. The concentrated plasma rich in growth factors is then reinjected into the area needing treatment to promote tissue healing and regeneration.
