The severity of anaemia can vary greatly from person to person. In its mildest form, the person will hardly notice that they are anaemic, they may just feel slightly more tired than usual. In its most severe form, if left untreated it can lead to death although this is very rare.

Usually people suffering from anaemia will be somewhere in the middle and experience symptoms such as tiredness and weakness, dizziness, headaches and shortness of breath. However, with a good diet and treatment (which will depend on the type of anaemia) these symptoms can usually be controlled.

Due to the timing, t?

Due to the timing, the change in stool color is most likely due to the iron supplement. However, recent NSAID use and anemia may herald something more serious such as gastrointestinal bleeding, which can also cause black stools (see my original answer above for more details); even if your black stools are from the iron alone, the anemia should be further evaluated.
