There is allergic and non-allergic Asthma. An allergy is when your body mistakes a substance that is harmless for harmful and then reacts to and tries to expel it. Asthma is when your airways become inflamed and it makes your bronchial tubes sensitive. The sensitized bronchial tubes can spasm to: more allergen exposure, infections, irritants such as cigarette smoke, perfumes, bleach, ammonia, etc. Having an untreated or unrecognized allergic reaction in your lungs can inflame the breathing tubes and cause asthma.
