Food for your mouth is: Food that s consumed and digested by mechanical and chemical processes that start to break the food down into smaller particles. The definition of digestion is making things smaller. Your stomach starts the digestion of proteins, and your duodenum does the rest.

Food for your body is: When food is broken down into such fine particles so that they can pass through the cellular membranes, then they have been thoroughly digested, and most importantly, absorbed so that the individual cells can use the digested food.
