When your having a heart attack does your left or right arm hurt?

When I experienced a recent heart attack, my first indication was indigestion and gas. Quickly after the onset of the first symptoms, I did experience stabbing pain in my armpit, and a sort of painful pressure down my left arm to my wrist.As I did, it is best when experiencing left arm pain, seek medical attention. It could be nothing, but better to know it is nothing serious than not know and die as a result.

∙ 9y agoClassically, chest pain radiating to the left arm is a sign of cardiac pain, typically angina or myocardial infarction. Cardiac pain, however, is not the only thing that causes pain in the left arm. Musculoskeletal, vascular, and nervous system injuries can also involve the arm. The lack of specificity of any symptom for cardiac-related pain is part of what makes heart attack so difficult to diagnose.
The short answer is, if you have chest discomfort associated with arm pain or numbness, I would be concerned for cardiac pain, but it does not necessarily mean you are having a heart attack.

∙ 9y agoIt can, but it is not definitive. Pain in the left arm can indicate a number of issue, from muscle strain, to tendon issues, to rotator cuff issues, to Arthritis, to (yes) heart attack.

I have pain in my right side under my breast. It comes from my Gall Bladder. I take Lecithin and it helps me. If you are having indigestion also that may be you problem. My pain sometimes hurts all through my chest but mostly in the right upper side.
