As Marcy said, it's not unheard of. The medical term is "vestigial tail", and is usually discovered at birth. That being said, yes, it can be surgically removed. However, if there are spinal nerves involved, the procedure becomes more complicated. Best of luck.

This is more common than you think and for some reason this happens to men more than women. See your family doctor and he will send you to a surgeon and you can have it surgically removed. It is obviously bothering you and it's no different than someone with a crooked nose getting plastic surgery done. Good luck Marcy
