No, it is not normal for this to happen. If it is happening to you then you should seek medical help. Other than a cut there is no way of saying what is causing this without seeing a Doctor or Nurse. It's probably something simple like an angiokeratoma (look it up). They can bleed for ages if knocked. Get it checked out though.
