It is OK to feel depressed for a couple of weeks and often people can be having hormonal issues (the young and the adults can go through this) which often is a normal depression. However, if you go for a month or more and feel worse such as not eating; eating too much; not sleeping; using alcohol or drugs to dull the pain (not accusing you of this); upset tummy; females missing menstrual periods then it is time to go see your doctor and discuss why you are depressed.
