can you have anything with red dye while pregnant?
No.
According to the National Women's Health Information Center, the answer to whether it is safe to dye hair during pregnancy is not clear as of November 2004. No changes to developing babies were noted in the few animal and human studies that are complete. If you are unsure about whether you should dye your hair during pregnancy, you should share your concerns with your health care professionals.

I'd talk to your doctor about these products before hand. I hoped I helped. Stacey Above is the former person's answer, but hair dye is not to be used in the first trimester. The first trimester is when the fetus develops all of its major organs, and hair dye, with or without ammonia, has not been fully researched. After the first trimester, it is considered safe provided you are in a well-ventilated area. It is recommended, however, that a hair color without the use of ammonia be used, and that the color not be applied to the roots/scalp.
