First and foremost, This stems from my own personal experience both as an EMT and a person who consumes alcohol on a pretty rare basis. I cannot speak for everyone, because everyone's body will process alcohol and medications differently. There are other factors to take into account, things like weight, age, and tolerance to alcohol etc. This is intended to be an article of opinion and should not be taken as medical advice. You accept the consequences of you actions.
On the occasions that I have drank enough to feel drunk I have waited to take medication, usually an hour or more after, and I drink plenty of water/fluids during this time. I suffer from both migraine and sinus headaches, so Excedrin is my pain reliever of choice. I usually take 2 tablets 1 to 2 hours after I have stopped drinking and I make sure to drink plenty of water and fluids. However the more alcohol you have in your system, the longer you should wait. Both alcohol and aspirin(which is contained in Excedrin) can affect the coagulation of your blood. So be mindful of that, also, Excedrin and alcohol are both processed through your liver, so again, take this in to consideration. I am speaking only from personal experience. I do not drink on a regular basis I also try to watch my intake of aspirin and acetaminophen. If you drink on a fairly regular basis (for example, 2 times or more a week.) I would stay away from medications such as Tylenol, Aspirin, and Excedrin, if you have alcohol in your body.
Headaches are no fun at all and can definitely ruin a day. But liver damage can be life long. Mixing alcohol and medications can result in liver failure which can and has been fatal.
yes, it will not harm or hurt you
Excedrin (the same as Excedrin Migraine, the same as Excedrin Back & Body) contains three ingredients: Acetaminophen (Tylenol) which is safe. Caffeine which is also safe. The third ingredient is aspirin. Most physicians recommend not using aspirin in children until they are over 18 due to the risk of Reye's Syndrome.
Yes, you can take Excedrin Migraine and Imitrex within 12 hours. You can even take them at the same time. Excedrin Migraine contains acetaminophen (Tylenol), aspirin, and caffeine. All of these are safe to take with Imitrex - which is a triptan medication and works by a different mechanism than the medicines in Excedrin Migraine.
Yes, you can take Lorazepam with Excedrin PM. Lorazepam is an anti-anxiety medication. Excedrin PM contains acetaminophen (Tylenol) and diphenhydramine (Benadryl). Both are safe to take with Lorazepam.
Excedrin contains acetaminophen, caffeine, and aspirin. All three of these will not interact with Atenolol.HOWEVER, taking two Excedrin is the same as drinking two cups of coffee back to back. Atenolol is usually prescribed to decrease blood pressure and pulse to normal levels. It may be counter-productive to be increasing your intake of caffeine while on Atenolol. It is something you should discuss with your doctor.
Yes, it is safe to take both Excedrin and Clonazepam. Excedrin contains three ingredients: acetaminophen (Tylenol), aspirin (non-steroidal-anti-inflammatory), and caffeine. Clonazepam (Klonopin) is a medication in the benzodiazepine class of medications which is used both as an anti-seizure medication and to treat panic disorder and anxiety. There should not be a drug interaction between the two.
not really too safe
When it comes to drug interaction, you should call your local pharmacy & speak to the pharmacist. He/She will be able to tell you "for sure" whether there is a problem mixing the two drugs. Better to be safe than sorry.
Yes it is safe. I have been taking percocet and excedrin maximum strength for years, but as always its safer to consult your doctor for reassurance due to the face that nobody knows your current medical history. I say yes.
Type your answer here... can you take excedrin migraine with klonopin
I'd check with your doc, all I can see is that excedrin has caffeine in that, I believe the excedrin back and body does not. The Metoprolol is a bp med correct? Do you drink coffee or tea now, I don't think one would hurt but I'd call the doc to be on the safe side.
Excedrin PM is designed to make you sleepy. If you take it in the morning, it may make you lethargic.
