In my opinion i think that it is possible for this to happen. I don't believe that it is a mental illness but it is determined to be. There are spirits all around us its just that they don't make contact with us and we don't make contact with them. There are certain people that have dedicated there lives to knowing how to get ride of spirits and contacting them. I feel that it is possible for people to talk to the dead and the out worldly. It is possible for them to contact you. What i do believe is that when contacting to much can turn you into a mental state of isolation since people would probably declare you insane to the max, lol.
