Once the meat is pre-cooked, pre-packed and from a reputable manufacturer, then it is perfectly safe to eat while pregnant. You should only be wary of meat which may have been lying around on a deli counter all day, or raw meat.

Other things to avoid while pregnant are liver (due to the high vitamin A content - toxic to pregnant women), any patés, anything made using unpasteurised egg, coleslaw which has been out on a deli counter, any of the really smelly veined cheeses like Brie.

There are of course other foodstuffs and situations to avoid,

is a good website to check out, and your obgyn place should be able to advise you on that as well.
