It was reported in a Sevenoaks Chronicle ThisisKent.co.ukarticle in the June 13 edition that there had been a case of confirmed Novel H1N1 in a man in Sevenoaks. This was the first case in Sevenoaks and the third in the area of West Kent. Two children had been tested positive for this "swine" influenza in an ongoing investigation into an outbreak at a boarding school in Berkshire and were at that time recovering at home under treatment with anti-viral medications. The latest case, in Sevenoaks, was the parent of a child from the New Beacon School in Brittians Lane. This was during half term, so the school did not have to be closed, but the child was kept from the school during any potential incubation period and has not fallen ill. According to school officials there is currently no further danger of spread from those cases.
