I guess that that is a question that all depends. If therapy is something that is readily available, people may utilise it more often but if it's not, people may have to rely on family, friends (and medication). I also think willing yourself not to think of things you find depressing can help a person who is suffering with such a problem. Sometimes people need therapy, and sometimes they don't but the more extensive your treatment is the less likely a relapse is. I guess it's a personal desicion, then.
