i have no answer but my grandchildren have them too. as did my brother and i as toddlers. we took my youngest grandson to the doc yesterday, he says it is clogged pours and that it goes away. i dont really care for this doc, he thinks everything is nothing. but i would love to know what it is and if it can be treated.

Try washing them like you would pimples on your face. Many stores and brands carry body scrub lines of products. Try un-cented, no-oil, little lotion ones. These are less likely to cause any pore clogging or rashes or irritations. Scrub off the dead skin that could get trapped in pores. Wear lighter clothing that won't keep sweat against your body, allowing bacteria to grow and infiltrate pores. Applying a topical over-the-counter acne medication can help, too.
It could be something simple, such as an ingrown hair. There are also some lymph nodes in some of those areas, which may be swollen. There are many other possibilites, but you would need to check with your MD, if this does not go away in a reasonable amount of time, causes you pain or becomes inflammed, or if you are running a fever.
It is a dry skin condition which is extremely common with children (50-70%). After having a shower or bath use moisturiser to soften the skin. This may take a while so be patient
