Not likely, most dentists will just do a standard fill in with some kind of epoxy. STOP GIVING YOUR KID SUGARY FOODS! It contributes to some serious diseases like Diabetes, and is a root cause of poor health in general.

-If the cavity has gotten into the nerve of the tooth then they do what is called a pulpotomy or a pulpectomy which is similar to an adult root canal only much simpler. If the cavity is small then they can fix it with a filling or sometimes a stainless steel crown since the tooth needs to last until she is 12-13 yrs old. Please be sure that you supervise tooth brushing and you can get "disclosing tablets" from a drug store or your dentist. Have her chew them, then brush until ALL of the color is gone. This will help improve plaque removal. Oh, and cut back on the soda, juice (even 100% real juice), and sticky sugary snacks.
