Some times these pains can be as a result of muscular activity. Perhaps you have been moving furniture around. There are other causes though and it may be as well to see a doctor and have it checked. If it is brought on by movement and becomes more severe then you should rest and ask your doctor to visit. If you can not get a visit or it is going to take a long time then go to hospital, calling an ambulance if necessary. Hope this helps.
A numb or shooting pain in the left arm is sometimes a symptom of a heart attack in progress, but is not the cause.
Generally shooting any piece of furniture with a caterpillar can cause shoulder pain. There was not enough information in your question as to the method of shooting. If you loaded the caterpillar into a shotgun it is likely that the "kick" of the gun caused the pain. If you used a slingshot you may have potentially torn your rotator cuff.
Trapped Nerve possibly. You would need to see a doctor to confirm.
Infection could cause a shooting pain in the left neck gland. This infection could have come from a dental procedure.
I had an acute pain in my left shoulder.

See a doctor. Could be stroke...signs for a heart attack. It will not hurt to go and get it checked out.
Left shoulder pain is probably caused by a strain on the muscle. Put some ice on it and if it doesn't go away, visit your doctor.
