Brownish discharge can mean different things. It could be a sign of ovulation. it could also be a false menstrual cycle in which your body did not release an egg but still rids itself of blood leftover from the last heavier period. It could also mean that you may be pregnant. The best thing to do is talk to your doctor. But you can also start tracking your fertility as an added comfort. It requires taking your waking temp. and noticing your vaginal discharge. You can get a great book called "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" by Toni Weschler, MPH. I have found it to be very helpful in educating myself about my female anatomy.

∙ 9y agoBrown discharge after a normal period is normal for many women. Brown discharge is simply old blood. However, if the discharge lasts for more than seven to 10 days, it may help to seek the advice of a gynecologist as prolonged discharge may be a sign of stress, perimenopause or in rare cases, pregnancy.

No you should not be worried. There are many things that can cause a period to be late even if you are regular. Being stressed, worried, anxious, stuff like that can throw it off by a few days to even a week. Like if you're worried about the possibility of being pregnant, and you know you took all the right steps in preventing a pregnancy, and there were no oppsies. You're just psyching yourself out, and that stress can actually delay a period. If you don't get your period within a week of when you normally start, do take a pregnancy test or consult your doctor. it could be the end of your period. or if you dont have yours yet, your first cycle. it is the combination of the normal discharge and blood. but if you are worried, go to your doctor.

You should be able to get your periods in your next cycle that is if you have regular periods. Brownish discharge is common should be nothing to worry about, it is just old blood and tissues that are excreting your uterus wall. On that note if you feel too worried about it, then you can see a gynaecologist otherwise you could wait to see if your next period will come as expected.
