Should you do colon cleanse if you have crohns disease?

You will have to do many of them over the course of your life with Crohns Disease.

While a colon cleanse may not irritate the disease, although it could, it might be best to consult with your Doctor first. When the disease is active I would think your system would be active enough. Such as like smoking a cigarette when you already have a cough. You may not need it with this condition because people who have it have constant diarrhea anyway and ulcers along the lining of the colon etc.. It would most likely irritate the condition further. They likely just have an inflammatory bowel disease that is chronic and I'm sure any sludge that would be up in the colon has long been pushed out by the constant diarrhea.

Not likely. Little hint from a long time Crohns patient...over the course of your disease you will have many "opportunities" to completely clean out your colon. Depending on the severity of the disease, it could be required several times per month by your doctors and, continually over the course of that month by your own body during a flare up. Give yourself a break, don't do this for no reason and pay for the "privilege" of having water/soap/herbs etc. flushed up into your colon. It could , in fact irritate the already inflamed bowel.

If you have been diagnosed with Crohns, speak with your doctor prior to being convinced this would be a good idea. I suggest , NOT.

Absolutely yes. When your disease is in remission or not very active you should make every effort to eat right, exercise. Live a normal healthy and active life. You will have times when you are too sick to do much but stay home near the toilet and your bed, take advantage of every opportunity to keep yourself in good disease fighting shape.
