SECRETIN
The first hormone discovered was adrenaline, also known as epinephrine. It was discovered in 1894 by Polish physiologist Napoleon Cybulski. Adrenaline is produced by the adrenal glands and plays a key role in the body's response to stress and danger.

Also known as androgenic hormone or testoid, androgen was first discovered in 1936. Androgen is a generic term for steroid hormones such as testosterone.

In 1902, scientist Ernest Starling discovered the very first form of secretin. Secretin is actually best known to be the very first discovered hormone.
The first plant hormone to be discovered was auxin, specifically indole-3-acetic acid (IAA), in the 1920s by Dutch scientist Frits Warmolt Went. Auxin plays a key role in promoting cell growth and elongation, as well as various other physiological processes in plants.
This is FSH - follicle stimulating hormone. While the hormone was named for its actions in the female (where it was first discovered), FSH was later discovered to also be secreted in the male, although the hormone is secreted continuously rather than in 'pulses' or 'waves' like in the female.
The hormone first used on Leonard Thompson was insulin. Frederick Banting and Charles Best discovered insulin in 1921 as a treatment for diabetes, significantly improving the quality of life for individuals with the condition.
Insulin
The hormone progesterone was discovered in the 1960s. Other advances included the introduction of hormonal contraception and the first in vitro fertilization of a human egg.
Nicolae Paulescu discovered insulin in 1921 along with his team. He was the first to successfully isolate and purify this hormone, and conducted the earliest successful experiments in treating diabetes with insulin.
