I teach psychology, so I will throw this out... 1-Physical;genetics; (you got some bad DNA that affects brain function. Brain damage; drugs and alcohol etc. will fry your brain in the long run, or a trauma like a blow to the head or a stroke. Long term, high levels of stress will run you down too. Your brain is an organ, just like your liver, it can go haywire. 2-Social; one good friend can make the world seem tolerable. In the meantime, get a loving pet. Be kind to yourself too, we all feel horrible at times in our lives, some for short periods, some poor souls for most of their lives. 3-Personal; a bad attitude about your own health and behavior... thinking everyone has it better than you (they don't, they all just put on a social mask to hide bad events and feelings). Blaming other people for all your problems. Not taking a proactive approach to your health and mental health.
