There are a number of causes for minor swelling and twitching of lips. In most cases, this is associated with stress or certain allergies.
If the ball of your lip piercing is being pressed into your lip due to swelling, you can try reducing the swelling with ice, taking a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory like ibuprofen, and contacting your piercer to have a longer stud inserted.
