What are some dog constipation remedies?

You can puree some pumpkin or butter nut squash and feed it to your cat. You can add a couple of teaspoons of pumpkin into your cat's everyday food to provide fiber into their diet. You can give your cat a half teaspoon of petroleum jelly per day if your cat is constipated. You can also make sure the cat's litter box is clean. This encourages cats to use the litter box regularly. If the litter box is dirty, cats will sometimes refuse to use it which can cause constipation. You can try feeding the cat some tuna packed in oil. Lastly make sure your cat has plenty of access to water.

Give him about 1/4 cup of any edible oil such as sunflower, or vegetable oil. This will pass through his system and loosen him up. The best method of administering the dose is through a large syringe (no needle attached please). Place the nozzle end of the syringe into the side of the dog's mouth near the jawline and force the fluid onto his tongue, rubbing his throat at the same time to encourage swallowing. This works better with two people because the dog is not going to like the taste of the oil.
