What are the cause and effect for getting pregnant at a young age?

People get pregnant at an early age because they choose to have unprotected sex. Some people think that using just a condom will keep them from getting pregnant, but condoms are only 85% affective. Sometimes they rip and sometimes they come off. People just don't think about the consequences of their actions.

- Birth Control failed

- not enough information on how the birth control works

- not enough sex education ex: "you can't get pregnant the first time you do it"

- "it wont happen to me/but we only did it once"-reasoning

- "we love each other and awww a baby with you would be perfect"

Effect:

- 60% dropping out of school

- only 1% graduate from college by the time they are 30

- 8,5 billion dollars of tax payers money are spent on teen pregnancies and teen parents each year.

- more women without a higher education

- more single parents/more children with only one parent

- teen pregnancy seem to be hereditary since many daughters of teen parents also become teen moms. It's a vicious circle.

- the teen will most likely stay home longer when others move out of their parents home because she will not have money.

- teen moms often loose many of their friends since with a baby they have a different life
