The major muscles of the body would be:

A) Anterior Upper Body:

  1. Pectoralis Major (involved with shoulder horizontal adduction and internal rotation)
  2. Deltoid Anterior, Middle and Posterior Fibers (shoulder flexion, abduction , horizontal abduction respectively)
  3. Rectus Abdominal (abs) (Flexion of the trunk)
  4. Oblique Muscles (lateral rotation of the trunk and pelvis)

B) Posterior Upper Body:

  1. Latismuss Dorsi (shoulder extension and external rotation)
  2. Trapezius (Upper fibers raises the scapula upwards also involves with movement of the neck, while middle and lower fibers retract it)

C) Arms:

  1. Biceps brachii (forearm flexion and supination, aids in shoulder flexion thru long head)
  2. Triceps brachii (elbow extension)
  3. Wrist Flexors and extensors

D) Pelvis and Hips:

  1. Glutues Maximus ( Hip Extension)
  2. Iliopsoas (Hip Flexion)
  3. Tensor Fascia lata , Glutues Medius and Minus (Hip Abduction, Stabilize body during walking)
  4. Hip Adductors
  5. Rectus femoris and Quadriceps (Knee Extension, Rectus Femoris aids in Hip Flexion)
  6. Hamstrings (Knee Flexion, Biceps Femoris aids in Hip Extension)
  7. Calf Muscles (mainly Gastrocnemius involved in ankle planter flexion)

although there are many other skeletal muscles with major functions (e.g Rotator cuff: stabilize shoulder joint , and Anconeus which stabilize elbow joint.. and many more) these ones above are considered the major muscles of the body by many

What are the organs of the muscular system?

A complete muscle, consisting of muscle fibers, connective tissue, nerve tissue, and blood tissue, is considered one organ by itself. The different organs in the muscular system include cardiac muscles, smooth muscles and skeletal muscles. There are roughly 600 organs in the muscular system, and these muscles make up about 40 percent of the body. These organs can be divided into four major groups: the muscles of the lower extremity, the trunk muscles, the muscles of the upper extremity, and head-and-neck muscles. The main organs in the muscular system are muscles, tendons, and ligaments. The muscular system is made up of over 700 different muscles. These muscles are broken down into 3 specific types; visceral muscles, cardiac muscles, and skeletal muscles.
