Pheochromocytoma is typically diagnosed using a combination of biochemical tests and imaging studies. Biochemical tests include measuring plasma free metanephrines or 24-hour urinary fractionated metanephrines, which are metabolites of catecholamines. Imaging studies such as computed tomography (CT) or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) are employed to localize the tumor once biochemical evidence is confirmed. In some cases, additional imaging techniques like positron emission tomography (PET) may be used for further evaluation.
The instrument used to diagnose an imbalance of eye muscles is a synoptophore. It is used to treat the imbalance by orthoptic methods.
Pheochromocytoma occurs in the Nervous System and in the Adrenal Gland.
Pheochromocytoma is a rare tumor of the adrenal glands that produces adrenaline. There are approximately 1,000 new cases of pheochromocytoma tumors in the United States each year.
Propanolol is a non-selective beta 1 and beta 2 receptor antagonist. When it is used in the treatment of pheochromocytoma, there is continued activation of the alpha 1 receptors leading to a paradoxical rise in hypertension due to the loss of vasodilatory affects inherent in beta 2 adrenergic stimulation. Case reports and reviews also show an increased incidence of pulmonary edema resultant from use of Propanolol in pheochromocytoma
.laboratory testing is needed to diagnose avian influenza.Test methods include a viral culture that analyses a blood sample and swabbings of the nose or throat. Other testing examines respiratory secretions.
The adrenal gland
If a pheochromocytoma is suspected, urine and/or a blood test are usually recommended. A test called "24-hour urinary catacholamines and metanephrines" will be done.
Gastrointestinal reflux imaging refers to several methods of diagnostic imaging used to visualize and diagnose gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).
1. rectal palpation of the developed foetus from the 40 or 45 day2. blood serum tested biologicallythis methods used with horses and cattle
Localized benign pheochromocytoma means that the tumor is found only in one area, is not cancer, and cannot spread to other tissues of the body
A maternal blood test is used to diagnose listeriosis.
Typically, the Ishihara tests are used to diagnose color deficits.
