The skin has sudoriferous glands, commonly known as sweat glands. These glands excrete perspiration, or sweat, which gets rid of excess fluids and salts, and cools the body when it evaporates. The sebaceous glands, or oil glands, secrete sebum. This oily substance provides physical and chemical protection to the skin.
it actually depends on what book you have duhh!! Well anyways i have the sebaceous (oil) glands and the sweat glands.

Merocrine secretion is a method of secretion in which secretory vesicles release their contents through exocytosis without the loss of cellular membrane. This process is common in glands that produce sweat, saliva, and digestive enzymes.

What are circulating hormones?

Circulating hormones emanate from the endocrine ( or ductless ) glands. These glands, embedded deep within our bodies, pour their secretions of functional substances (hormones) out of their locale into capillaries that return them - via the general circulation - to the heart and onward to their destination. Most of these are : pineal gland, the hypophysis, thyroid and parathyroid glands, pancreatic islets and the suprarenal glands (adrenal) , and there are two types of secretions from gonads as well.

Sweat glands and mammary glands are alike how?

Both sweat glands and mammary glands are types of exocrine glands that secrete substances through a duct to the surface of the skin. What is the difference between merocrine and apocrine sweat glands?

holocrine, apocrine, merocrine are the terms used to designate the secretory cells (glands),depending on how these cells release their secretions. holocrine-release their secretions by lysis of the cell. apocrine-by budding off cell membrane into vesicles. merocrine-by exocytosis into ducts. ascending order of tissue damage during secretion merocrine Sweat glands are of 2 types Eccrine(a type of merocrine) and Apocrine. The term Apocrine sweat gland is a misnomer, since they dont secrete by apocrine mechanism, as earlier believed. Regarding differences, both types glands vary in terms of number, distribution, nature of secretions, activity, histology, innervation, etc I can now answer only a few things and the rest if left unanswered will be discussed by others. first eccrine, numerous, all over the body, clear, odorless secretions rich in Nacl and H20. next apocrine, limited, eyelids ,ear canal, alae of nose, armpits, breasts, pubic and perianal region, etc, odorless, oily, thick, opaque, secretions that gain odor after bacterial decomposition.
