I used to have the same problem. I don't know about you but I would even scratch to the point of even bleeding. I suffered from dry scalp for years among other dry skin problems. First I tried the dermatologist, who gave me Hydrocortisone or Steroid creams and shampoos, at first they seemed like they were helping but then it came back worse, almost with a vengeance. Almost all doctors and dermatologists recommend them. I later found out that they are hash chemicals with side effects (thin skin to the point of bleeding, they burn the skin, weaken the immune system and more). So learn from my mistakes and STAY AWAY. A lot of people don't realize that most scalp problems are caused by the shampoos we use. Most shampoos we use today are nothing more than glorified detergents. It's horrible, it strips the hair and the scalp of the PH balance and can cause damage. It strips the hair and scalp of everything good and everything bad. Even people who have been using the same shampoo and suddenly get dry scalp, it's because there's not always an immediate effect, it can have an accumulative effect I tried Tar shampoos(with real tar) that was really bad. All kinds of over-the-counter (Head and Shoulders)products, did nothing, maybe made it worse, they also had bad/damaging chemicals. I also tried over the counter creams I used (Eurcein to name one of many) had mineral oil in it which is the by-product of making gasoline from petroleum. It's Cheap and HORRIBLE for the skin. And the sad thing is Doctors recommend it. Finally after years of suffering I found a product that works for me. I was so leery on trying new products(I had tried so many others). I asked them what made their products so special. They explained to me that the skin responds to natural in a simple example (If you eat healthy foods you body will respond well if you don't it won't). They told me how the skin has 7 layers (3 main ones) and that you need something that's Trans-dermal (travels though the seven layers) and will work it's way up to unpack dry dead and damaged cells and restore balance. They went on to explain that the skin needs natural products and only that but the right formulation, and to add no dyes, colorants, fragrances. They told me how they have a 95% success rate and people see significant results in 3-5 days(I literally did not believe them). Still hesitant I decided to finally give their products a try. I was amazed, shocked and relieved all at the same time. In 7 days my dry scalp was 80% healed, in 2 weeks or less you could not tell I even had problematic skin. I used to itch to the point of sometimes breaking skin, the itching stopped in less than 2 days. I suffered for years with no relief, now that I have my skin repaired I am telling everyone. I've told hundreds who have suffered, and tried their products and they truly have a 95% success rate. Try Apple Cider Vinegar it also works great on bug bites and itchy skin. It balances the body's PH

Fibromyalgia itself does not directly cause an itchy scalp, but it can lead to symptoms such as skin sensitivity and discomfort, which might contribute to sensations of itchiness. Additionally, stress and anxiety associated with fibromyalgia can exacerbate skin conditions or irritate the scalp. It's essential to consult a healthcare provider to determine the underlying cause of an itchy scalp, as it could also be related to other skin issues or allergies.

Cold water is generally better for an itchy scalp as hot water can further irritate the skin and strip away natural oils, leading to more dryness and itching. Cold water can help soothe the scalp and reduce inflammation.
