An IV goes into a vein and should not be related to numbness. In order for numbness to occur (temporary) one would have to have nerve damage. Perhaps if the IV infiltrated and the fluid went into the subq space and placed pressure on the nerve it might tingle until the fluid was absorbed. Probably not! A sore arm and numb fingers could be caused by a pinched nerve in the neck or shoulder, poor posture, repetitive movements, or an injury. It is important to see a healthcare provider to determine the underlying cause and receive appropriate treatment.
