I would suggest walking a lot. You can also try raspberry leaf tea, warm (not hot!) baths, and nipple stimulation. You can have sex at any time as long as your doctor or midwife says it's ok. There is a hormone in semen that can help soften the cervix but the doesn't necessarily mean you will have stronger contractions. I wouldn't recommend taking castor oil because it doesn't work in some women and if you're one of them, all you will do is throw up and have diarrhea and be dehydrated. The hospital will tell you to walk. If you choose to walk, wait until your bladder is full and supposedly it will make you water break. You can try caster oil. It's some nasty stuff, but put it in some Orange Juice or something like that. It will make you poo, but something about it is supposed to make your labor come quicker. Playing with your nipples is suggested sometimes. It releases potossin which will quicken labor. And my final piece of advice, if your water hasn't broken yet and only if it hasn't, have sex.

What is difference between labor room and delivery room?

Labour room is where you go before the birth (e.g. having contractions) and before you're dialated enough to go to the delivery room. The delivery room is where you give birth to the baby when you have dialated enough to push the baby out of yo vagina.

If Red Raspberry Tea and Rosemary Tea are mixed together will that help you to dialate more?

The best ways to dialate are to have unprotected sex with your partner so you don't get HIV or anything else. The sperm helps soften and dialate the cervix. Make sure that your water hasn't broke yet and that you are far enough along to have the baby. Another thing that helps release the chemical oxytocin(might be spelled wrong) in the brain is to rub your nipples. Just rub them and in about 25-30 mins you should start to have contractions. This is something that your partner can do for you. Walking also helps bring on contractions when you're 39-41 wks just don't lay down when you start to have contractions, keep walking.

Why do ESL students write is when they should write it is or its contraction?

Contractions can be quite confusing and somewhat irregular for ESL students. Tricky enough for them to feel that sticking to more standard form is easy enough while still being understandable. Also, some languages such as Spanish don't often require the equivalent of an "it" before an "is"

What is a twitch contraction?

A twitch contraction is a single, brief contraction of a muscle fiber in response to a stimulus. It is the smallest unit of muscle contraction and is not strong enough to produce movement of a limb.

In a concentration contraction the muscles shorten to produce movement?

True.

What is a stimulus that results in no perceptible contraction?

A subthreshold stimulus is one that does not generate a strong enough signal to elicit a perceptible contraction in muscle fibers. It is below the threshold required to cause an action potential and result in muscle contraction.

When does wave summation occurs?

Wave summation occurs when a muscle is stimulated rapidly enough that it does not have time to completely relax between stimuli, causing the contractions to combine or "summate" to produce a stronger muscle contraction. This phenomenon can occur during repetitive or sustained muscle activity, leading to increased muscle force production.

What are the energy sources for muscle contraction to occur?

Energy is supplied to muscles for contraction by means of adenosine triphosphate being stored in muscle fibers. These are stored from creatine phosphate, enough to power muscle contractions for a few seconds.

If enough muscle fibers contract to make the muscle as a whole shorten in length the muscle is said to exhibit contractions?

concentric

Why does tachycardia greater than 200 beats per minutes results in decreased coronary perfusion?

The heart does not have enough time between contractions to fill with enough blood to maintain adequate cardiac output. This is especially a concern because the heart itself is perfused during diastole (the period between ventricular contractions).

Whats difference between eccentric and concentric muscle contractions and examples of when in use?

Eccentric and Concentric contractions are both types of Isotonic Contraction. In isotontic contractions the length of a muscle changes, ie movement occurs, unlike an Isometric Contraction where force is applied but no movement occurs. Concentric contraction is the more obvious type of sixe change a muscle can have, it is when the muscle Shortens to move the Load. For example id one was to bend the elbow whilslt holding a weight (called a Bicep Curl) the Brachialis and, to a lesser extent, the Biceps Brach would shorten and pull the forearm up with the weight. Eccentric contracion is the type that muslce builder who wish to bulk up with inefficient muscle use. This is where the muscle Lengthens under conrtaction. To continue the same example above, imagine the weight was too heavy to hold up so it starts to fall under control. The brachialis and biceps muscles are still contracting trying to hold the weight in place but they are not producing enough force so the load is stretching them out.

When will your labor start im at 38 weeks?

Generally, labor is not induced at 36 weeks, as the baby is still considered preterm An infant needs the additional time in the womb for lungs to be mature enough to breathe on the outside. Don't rush things. The baby will come when it is time. Good luck.
