If it's the same arm, I'd start asking about a history of trauma, such as that arm being jerked, or pulled violently. If so, I would think that perhaps the nerve bundle in your armpit had been injured by the above type of trauma. This 'nerve bundle' I'm discussing is formed by nerves exiting in spinal cord in the neck, meet in the armpit and mix to form the "brachial plexus" before separating into nerves that run down and make the arm, forearm and fingers/thumb work... If you are talking about problems in both arms, I would think of an ulnar nerve problem in the arm with the tingling middle finger... It's possible you have a couple of different problems going on --that together-- would cause these problems to surface...
