I have had severe stabbing pain under the very last rib on my right side for upwards to 5 years. I have literally had every test done ranging from CT scan and MRI's to Endoscopys of both ends and x-rays. I have had my gall bladder removed and my appendix removed. I am a 25 year old male, I weigh right around 135lbs. I have delt with too many doctors and been poked and prodded for too long now. Doctors have told me there is nothing wrong with me and there is nothing they can do for me, yet im still in pain every day. Does anyone have any ideas?

Due to the amount of nerve endings in the stomach and the surface area that it can cover it is possible for mild gastritis to be very painful. The pain should be felt in the upper stomach region at or below the bottom of the rib cage and above the belly button. Most gastritis pain is diffuse for mild cases, meaning it is usually not a sharp stabbing pain which could be indicative of a ulcer. See a gastroenterologist for diagnosis and treatment.
