A metallic smell in fecal matter can be caused by the presence of certain compounds, such as iron or other metals, which can result from dietary factors or medical conditions. Consuming foods rich in iron, like red meat or supplements, can contribute to this odor. Additionally, gastrointestinal bleeding or certain infections may introduce metals or other substances that alter the smell. If the metallic odor is persistent, it's advisable to consult a healthcare professional for further evaluation.

How can animals eat fecal matter and not get sick?

If you are talking about dogs specifically, I can partly explain why. A dog's sense of smell is much different than our own. When we smell something, we smell everything that is compiled in that one object (ex. fecal matter smells horrible to us.), however dogs can smell individual scents in fecal matter, so they eat it because they smell something appealing. Now that explains why they eat fecal matter, but not necessarily why they do not get sick. I believe the reason they do not get sick has to do with something called tolerance thresholds. To explain, when we are stimulated in any way (in this case smell) our nervous system reacts by releasing what is called an action potential. This only happens when the stimulus is strong enough, however. This potential must reach our threshold in order for us to give a response to the stimulus. Now everyone has different thresholds. An example is a room that smells like dead fish. One person can walk in and feel completely fine and then another person can walk in and feel really nauseous. This might be the case with dogs. They eat fecal matter because they smell something appealing and it does not bother them in any way as opposed to humans that would probably vomit by eating feces. I hope this answer was helpful and did not completely bore you to death. :) Sources: My Biology Teacher My Biology Notebook Knowledge from previous Psychology classes

Do chinken's buts smell like eggs?

No, a chicken's butt does not smell like eggs. The smell of eggs usually comes from the sulfur compounds present in the egg itself. Chickens have a cloaca, which is a multi-purpose opening for reproduction and waste elimination, but it does not produce a smell similar to eggs.

How hazardous can human fecus fumes be to your health?

Yes, human fecal matter is toxic. That does not mean that if you ate a spoonful it would kill you immediately. However our fecal matter is full of chemicals such that our bodies chose not to absorb. If it were suitable for promoting growth, cellular reproduction or repair, your body would use it.

When you small a fart are you inhaling fecal particles?
