They are there to work on the infected pus of the acne. The white blood cells are the clean up crew of the immune system. Accocrding to the doctor, it is completely harmless, but the large nodes will be sore and you want to monitor them for growth. He prescribed a low dose antibiotic to help with the acne. It wasn't necessary, but I wanted it because it had been prescribed by a dermatologist in the past and it helps with ance.
