The symptoms of a masklike face and spastic movements are often associated with poisoning from the neurotoxin produced by the botulinum bacteria (Clostridium botulinum) or can also be seen in cases of manganese poisoning. Botulism can lead to facial muscle paralysis and rigidity, resulting in a masklike appearance. Manganese toxicity, on the other hand, can cause neurological symptoms including spastic movements and changes in facial expression. Both conditions require immediate medical attention.
