There are many different forms of color blindness. To keep the answer brief, though, there are 3 basic types of deficiencies: Red-Green, Blue-Yellow, and Monochromatic. The most common form is red-green color blindness, also called Deuteranopia.
In my opinion, this is a very hard question to answer because you are asking what someone perceives, which can be caused both by the cones in your eyes as well as the brain. As a person with a color vision deficiency, I have problems telling the difference between red & green, blue & purple, pink & red, yellow & red, yellow & orange, and dark green, dark brown, and black.
An analogy that I have often used to describe how colorblind people see the world uses a paint palette. People with normal color vision have the same three colors on their paint palettes. People who are colorblind usually have three colors as well but they are not as divided. So, when mixed, the colors are not as distinctive as a person with normal color vision causing the color confusions.
