∙ 15y agoHi, brown discharge means old blood. So, if you're having old blood come before your period (which generally it comes after a period finishes) this could mean a few things. My first guess would be that it could be a sign of ovulation, considering your actual period came a week later. Because menstruation will generally come 1-2 weeks after after ovulation. Most woman don't have signs of ovulation every month. Some months we have a heavy flow, and other months it may be much lighter, or you may even skip a period the odd month. Menstruation is the most suspenseful thing that I don't think any one will ever understand 100%, because it's so unpredictable, as it varies for all of us and changes in patterns. So, I really don't think you need to worry. But if you are, you could always get it checked out. Anyway, I hope that helps...
