Smoking can really harm your lungs and make them black if you smoke too much. This is due to the build up of tar in the lungs which will eventually lead to lung cancer.

--

If someone smokes more than once and is constantly smoking then they could end up getting lung cancer. Cigarettes get addicting, so they are hard to stay away from for a smoker. And yes in time your lungs will get black. Also it is common for smokers to get a big hole in their neck, so they have to use a remote like piece of equipment to help them talk. And then some people have to walk around with little breathing tubes. This might not seem like the most educated answer but let me tell you this it is way more accurate then the ones above, and then the ones you find.
