In general, a broken bone and a fractured bone are the same thing and doctors will use the terms interchangeably.
You get an xray taken at a hosbital and it is used to see if you have a fractured or broken bone

Broken bones are extremely painful. Any movement of a broken bone causes terrible pain to the patient. Sedation is a great way to calm the patient, relieve his/her pain and be able to manipulate the bone for setting without resistance from the patient.

The most common method is via x-ray machine; however, there are three other methods currently in use (two conventional, and one Eastern method): 1. Rectal thermal imaging (similar to infrared scanners you might see at a busy international airport); 2. Random bone sampling with fishing wire, aka "Bone Fishing"; and 3. Rubbing the "bone" all over your face.

Some types of procedures that doctors use umbilical cord blood for is bone marrow. If the baby needs more bone marrow, they can get some extra from blood from the umbilical cord.
X-rays help doctors see broke bones, and also diseases inside of a human body.
