Endocrine glands secrete hormones and exocrine glands secrete enzymes. They serve as double check automatic control over one another. The pituitary gland is known as master gland in the body and plays an important role in several ways. It has certain hormones which have direct action on the body for example the growth hormone. Thyroid gland is located in the neck and fits closely around the from and side of trachea just below the organ of voice of larynx.Endocrine glands lose their connection to the surface, and are often called ductless glands. Their secretions diffuse directly into the blood vessels that weave through the glands. Exocrine glands retain their ducts and their secretions empty through the ducts to the epithelieal surface. The term "master gland" is outdated and misleading because it implies that one gland controls all others, which is not entirely true. The endocrine system works as a complex network of glands that interact with each other through feedback loops, rather than one single gland being in charge.
Insulin is an endocrine hormone secreted by the pancreas. You could call it endocrine or pancreatic secretion.

The Adrenal gland. As a point of interest the gland is named for is position above the kidney. Ad=above renal=kidney. The supstance it produces is called adrenaline. So the gland is named for its position and the hormoned named after the gland, logical no? But some people (Americans) think the rest of the world should call the hormone epinephrine simply because that's what they have been calling it...
You call them hormones. Hormones are poured in the blood. They are transported by blood to give effect at some distant place in your body.
