During rest, the blood pressure drops to a minimal level. When one stands up from a supine or sitting position, the effect of gravity tends to work on the circulation such that the blood in the upper extremities rapidly flows to the lower extremities thus there is an increased pressure in the lower extremities while the upper extremities has low blood pressure thus this account for the low volume of venous return which direcly affect the cardiac output. Decreased cardiac output is dangerious to the vital organs in the body such as heart and brain.syncope may ensue due to low blood flow to the brain.among other features include loss of consciousness, dizziness, myocardialischaemia expressed as angina etc

When a person stands up suddenly how does blood move?

When a person stands up suddenly, gravity causes blood to pool in the lower extremities, temporarily reducing blood flow to the brain. To counteract this, the body quickly activates the autonomic nervous system, leading to vasoconstriction and increased heart rate to maintain blood pressure and ensure adequate blood flow to the brain. This rapid response helps prevent dizziness or fainting that can occur from the sudden change in position.

Explain one of the reasons why a person changing quickly from a horizontal to vertical position temporarily may feel dizzy?

The reason has to do with how blood flows through the body, and blood pressure. When lying down, blood pressure to the brain is fairly low, since there is less pressure required to pump blood to the brain in a horizontal body - it's not fighting gravity as the entire body is on the same level plane. However, when a person stands up too quickly, the body doesn't have enough time to react to the rapid increase in gravity that short distance causes, and therefore doesn't have enough time to increase blood pressure flow to the brain. So the reason a person can feel dizzy is that when they stand up, there isn't enough blood flow to the brain yet - it takes a couple of seconds for the heart to catch up. It can also happen even if a person is just stiting down and stands up.

What are the primary symptoms of hyperaldosteronism?

high blood pressure. In addition, a patient may experience orthostatic hypotension, or reduced blood pressure when a person stands after lying down. Constipation, muscle weakness

What does ip or bp or ep or usp stands for in a medicine composition?

I know that usp stands for the United States Pharmacopedia but has nothing to do with medicine. bp stands for blood pressure which can be maintained with blood pressure medicine.

Where in systemic circulation is Blood Pressure highest?

What position is blood pressure normally the highest and lowest? If a person was sitting, reclining, or standing, which position would cause the blood pressure to be highest and lowest? Also, if there was an increase in blood viscosity, cardiac ouput, and diameter of the arterioles would this constitute to an increase in blood pressure as well?blood pressure (BP) is usuall lowest standing position and highest in supine (reclining) position. This is because the blood return to the heart is decreased when standing.http://www.bloodpressureinc.com/what-position-is-blood-pressure-normally-the-highest-and-lowest/Exercise is at its highest when we exercise and lowest when we sleep.

How does blood pressure make blood move though the various regions of the cardiovascular system?

Blood pressure is the actual pressure of blood traveling in the arteries of the body. Blood pressure is caused by the force of a pump (the heart) pumping blood into the arteries which have tight walls. The pressure of the blood results in the blood circulating just as water pressure will result in water circulating to any pipes attached to a water pump. When a person has very low blood pressure the blood does not circulate much and the person is said to be "in shock." When a person has no blood pressure the blood does not circulate at all and the person is dead.

What effects blood pressure?

the mood the person is is can affect their blood pressure such as depression and angry..

How does pain raise your blood pressure?

Pain can cause you to breathe more quickly, increasing the pulse, causing more blood to be pumped through your arteries, raising you blood pressure.

Why might someone feel dizzy after moving from a supine to a standing position and is their blood pressure homeostasis working too fast or too slow?

Dizziness upon standing, known as orthostatic hypotension, can occur because the body’s blood pressure homeostasis is not responding quickly enough. When a person stands up, gravity causes blood to pool in the legs, and if the cardiovascular system does not promptly constrict blood vessels and increase heart rate, insufficient blood flow reaches the brain, leading to dizziness. This delayed response indicates that the body’s mechanisms for regulating blood pressure may be too slow in adjusting to the change in position.
