If your dog has runny eyes it could mean a lot of things. Puppies will often get runny eyes because they aren't used to the air. Usually it's not very serious. What I commonly do is take a warm wet wash cloths, and whip it over the eyes. Do this as needed until eventually the eyes don't water. If you have done this, and the animals eyes is still watering or bleeding take it to the vet as soon as you can because than it is more than just irritated eyes. It could also depend on your breed as well certain kinds of dogs, and cats just have naturally watery eyes it's in there breed Ex. Shitzoos, st. Bernhard's, Basset Hounds, and Poodles. Have those watery eyes.

Your dog could be having an allergic reaction to something that it was exposed to like other pet dander. Try your best to keep it's eyes wiped clean in the corners and contact your vet for a possible antihistamine that can be given.
