AIDS attacks the T cells and makes it difficult for the person's immune system to work.
Aids trick the T cells in the immune system and stops them from working and protecting the body from other viruses.

So it could be said that the actual disease AIDS doesn't not kill people, (well, some) but mostly the other viruses that the body would of otherwise fought off, are the ones that kills us.

AIDS ITSELF DOES NOT KILL US. what it does to our body allows other viruses to do that.
